* New parking decals and hangtags for faculty and staff were mailed in the campus mail recently and need to be used effective Sept. 1. If you did not receive yours, contact accounts receivable at wsuaccountsreceivable@wichita.edu or 978-3076.

* The Tilford Commission for Diversity Subcommittee on Student Issues is open to faculty or staff who care about supporting differences on campus and creating better ties with diverse populations in the community. The first meeting of the year will be from 3-4:30 p.m. today (Tuesday, Sept. 4) in 229 Hubbard Hall. If you have questions, contact co-chairs alicia.newell@wichita.edu or heather.grohe@wichita.edu.

* Socialize, build relationships and engage in dialogue about issues concerning men of color at Wichita State. A Brother 2 Brother meeting, held the first Tuesday of every month, will meet at 4 p.m. today (Tuesday, Sept. 4) in 419 Jardine Hall. There will be free refreshments.

* New graduate teaching assistants have one more opportunity to attend a mandatory GTA workshop from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, in 200 Ahlberg Hall. GTAs who have not attended a previous workshop must attend this one in order to keep their GTA position. If you have questions, call Connie in the Graduate School office at 978-6241.

* A wage and hour training class is designed for supervisors and is highly beneficial for timekeepers. If you approve timesheets or input timesheets, knowing the laws and polices is imperative. Classes are offered every month. To view training dates and register for the class, log in to myWSU, select EmpHelp (orange cube underneath the Weather) and myTraining. * President Bardo invites all campus employees and the community to attend and be part of the planning process at Wichita State. The first Strategic Planning Meeting will be held from 1-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, on the main floor of Koch Arena. If you plan to attend, respond to strategicplanning@wichita.edu.

* The annual Champagne and Chocolate fundraising event benefitting the Evelyn Hendren Cassat Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic at WSU will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at the Wichita Scottish Rite Center at 332 E. 1st Street.
