* Faculty and staff are invited to a Recruitment, Admissions and Financial Aid Workshop at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, in Marcus Welcome Center. Attendees can use the information to support recruitment efforts from the perspective of their own department. The Office of Financial Aid also will present the latest in financial aid guidelines and practices to interested individuals immediately following the admissions session. * The Fall 2012 Job Fair, hosted by the Office of Career Services, will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, in Koch Arena. WSU faculty and staff are invited to attend and inform students about the opportunity to meet with representatives from more than 50 companies. The list of companies registered for the Job Fair is available on the Career Services website at http://www.wichita.edu/career. Click on events.

* Student Activities Council is looking for nominations for the 2012 WSU Shocktoberfest Man and Woman of the Year competition. The applicants should be role models for other students and be seen as a positive representation of WSU and in the community. * Student Perception of Teaching Effectiveness (SPTE) Request forms were mailed to your department recently. Check with your department's office assistant if you did not receive one. You may download a form and get additional SPTE information from http://www.webs.wichita.edu\sslab.

* The Constitution Day discussion sponsored by the Political Science Club, "The Supreme Court and the Presidential Election," will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, in 418 Lindquist Hall. The discussion will be led by Neal Allen, assistant professor of political science.

* This semester, Campus Recreation is hosting Nike's ReUse-A-Shoe drive with a goal to collect 500 pairs of worn-out shoes by the end of the semester. Reuse-A-Shoe takes worn-out shoes and turns them into something new, like tracks and playgrounds. Drop off athletic shoes of any brand for recycling in the boxes placed inside the Heskett Center. Do not bring shoes containing metal, cleats, dress shoes, sandals or flip-flops.

* KMUW has declared the first day of its fall pledge drive as WSU Day. On Thursday, Sept. 27, the bi-annual drive will feature WSU faculty, staff and alumni answering pledge phones throughout the day. Phone volunteers are requested to attend an hour of training on Monday, Sept. 24, or Tuesday, Sept. 25.
