* As part of KMUW's fall pledge drive, today (Thursday, Sept. 27) is WSU Day. The bi-annual drive will feature WSU faculty, staff and alumni answering pledge phones throughout the day. Interim Provost Keith Pickus will be an on-air guest from 8-9 a.m., followed by President Bardo from 9-10 a.m.
* The work of professor Ronald Christ carefully balances precision and lyricism, realism and abstraction. In his artist talk, "Poetic Fictions," at 7 p.m. today (Thursday, Sept. 27) in the Campus Activities Center Theater, he will review his 40-year career, reflecting on the constant concern for exacting attention to detail and changing nature of his subjects. Admission is free.
* Take advantage of this Shocker Fit Pass special event: Pilates at the Fountain. Tone your body at Wichita State's beautiful and only fountain at Corbin Education Center from 6:30-7:30 p.m. today (Thursday, Sept. 27). Admission is free with a Shocker Fit Pass and $5 for drop-in guests. If you have a Shocker Fit Pass you can bring along a friend for free.

* WSU's African American Faculty and Staff Association will host a Shining Stars Awards Gala scholarship fundraiser at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, in Hughes Metropolitan Complex. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 general public. Doors open at 5:20 p.m. and tickets will be sold at the door.
