* The WSU Gordon Parks Lecture Series presents John W. Franklin at 6 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 4) in the CAC Theater. Franklin is the director of partnerships and international programs for the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of African American History and Culture. * Joshua Piker, associate professor of history at the University of Oklahoma, will present "The Four Deaths of Acorn Whistler: Telling Stories in Colonial America" at 7 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 4) in 208 Hubbard Hall.

* Shocktoberfest 2012: The Final Countdown is quickly approaching and SAC is hosting the annual door decorating contest. Any WSU office or department can participate by submitting an entry form to Student Involvement by 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8.
