Aurora man serves NASA internship

The following is a story about Wichita State student Jordan Jensen in the July 6 issue of The Grand Island Independent.

Every night, Jordan Jensen calls home to tell his family in Aurora what he’s been working on at NASA’s Dryden Flight Research Center in Edwards, Calif.

Some nights, after they’re done talking, his family will call him back.

“I’ll say, ‘What exactly did you tell me? That was really over my head,’” said Jodi Jensen, Jordan’s mother.

When what you’re working on is fluid dynamics, shockwave modeling and thrust vectoring, it tends to go over a lot of people’s heads.

That’s what Jensen, an Aurora resident and Wichita State University student, has been doing for the past six months as part of a prestigious internship at the center.
