Christine Porter Reappointed as Director of the School of Accountancy

The W. Frank Barton School of Business is proud to announce the reappointment of Dr. Christine Porter as Director of the School of Accountancy at Wichita State University. This will be Porter’s second consecutive term. She will serve in the role for three years.

“I’m so pleased with the dedication of the School of Accountancy staff and faculty as well as the growth that we have seen,” said Porter. “I look forward to continuing to serve our students and help them bloom to their fullest potential.”

Under Porter’s leadership, SOA achieved a 12% increase in enrollment including 14% growth in just the past year. While director, she oversaw the reaffirmation of the school’s AACSB accreditation, enhanced student engagement opportunities, hired faculty and launched the Barton Accounting Forum.

“Christine’s leadership has elevated the School of Accountancy and strengthened Barton School as a whole,” said Dr. Larisa Genin, Dean of the Barton School. “Her vision, dedication, and collaborative spirit have made a lasting difference, and I am thrilled to see her continue in this important role.”
