The Barton School of Business at Wichita State University has named Shawn and Shawna Lancelot co-chairs of its 2028 “Beyond” Hall of Fame celebration. The Lancelots will help lead preparations for the Barton School’s third Hall of Fame gala, which recognizes individuals whose leadership, achievements and contributions have made a lasting impact on the Barton School, Wichita State University and the broader community.
The 2028 “Beyond” Hall of Fame gala will take place Saturday, February 19, 2028, at 6 p.m. at Mark Arts, which also hosted the event in 2024 and 2026.
“Shawn and Shawna have a deep connection to the Barton School and the Wichita community, and they understand what makes the ‘Beyond’ Hall of Fame so special,” said Larisa Genin, dean of the Barton School. “Their leadership will help us build on the momentum of our first two Hall of Fame celebrations while creating an unforgettable experience in 2028 that honors the extraordinary people who have shaped the Barton School and its legacy.”
Shawn Lancelot serves on the Barton School Dean’s Advisory Board and is President of Bank of America Wichita, KS. He joined Bank of America and its predecessor company, Bank IV, in 1989 and has extensive experience in private banking, wealth management, and commercial and retail banking. Shawn is a 1998 graduate of the Barton School of Business.
Shawna Lancelot, a Wichita native, serves as Chief Financial Officer of Security 1st Title in Wichita. Since joining the company in 2016, she has provided leadership in accounting operations, financial reporting and internal controls, with an emphasis on financial accuracy, regulatory compliance and operational excellence. A Certified Public Accountant, Shawna is a 1995 graduate of the Barton School of Business.
The Lancelots have also maintained a strong commitment to the Wichita community throughout their marriage. Shawn currently serves as Chair of the Board for Goodwill Industries of Kansas and as a board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas. He previously served as Chair of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kansas.
Shawn and Shawna have been married for 32 years and have three children and two grandsons. Together, they bring their professional experience, community connections and longstanding relationship with Wichita State and the Barton School to their roles as co-chairs.
“We are honored to serve as co-chairs of the 2028 ‘Beyond’ Hall of Fame and help recognize the remarkable individuals who have contributed to the Barton School and our community,” said the Lancelots. “We look forward to working with the Hall of Fame Committee to build upon the legacy of this special celebration and create a memorable evening for the Barton School and its supporters.”
The “Beyond” Hall of Fame was established to recognize and celebrate industry executives, business leaders, alumni and supporters who have gone above and beyond in making a significant impact on their communities and advancing the Barton School. It was launched under the leadership of inaugural Hall of Fame Chair Stephanie Luetters, a philanthropist and member of the Barton School Dean’s Advisory Board, who helped guide the 2024 and 2026 celebrations.
The inaugural Hall of Fame class in 2024 honored W. Frank Barton, Clark Bastian and
Fran Jabara. Paul Allen, Dan Carney and Steve Feilmeier joined the Hall of Fame in
2026. Their induction was part of a milestone year for the Barton School, which is
celebrating its centennial and 100 years of business education at Wichita State University
throughout 2026. Hall of Fame inductees are also permanently recognized through the
Barton School Hall of Fame display located on the second floor in Woolsey Hall.
As the Barton School celebrates its first century, preparations for the 2028 “Beyond”
Hall of Fame continue that tradition of recognizing the people whose leadership, service
and support have helped shape the School and its impact.
Nominations for the 2028 “Beyond” Hall of Fame class will open soon, with additional details to be announced by the Barton School.
