Barton School Showcases Its Youngest Artists Ever Through Envision Arts Exhibition

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at Wichita State University proudly unveiled its newest Envision Arts Program exhibition in Woolsey Hall — featuring the youngest artists ever to have their work displayed in the building. Three talented children from the Cathy G. Hudson Envision Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) now have their art showcased on the third floor of the Barton School.

ECDC provides an inclusive early learning environment for children ages 0–5 who are blind or visually impaired. Through art, these young creators are encouraged to explore their imagination, refine their sensory experiences, and express their unique perspectives on the world.

“Our little artists have been inspired by the masters,” said Sarah Kephart, Senior Manager at Envision Arts. “With tiny hands and big hearts, they’ve reimagined iconic works in ways that only young minds can. Come celebrate their playful, powerful interpretations and see the classics through fresh eyes.”

The exhibit features three vibrant works titled “Mondrian’s Maps,” “Sunflowers for Vincent,” and “Donuts à la Claes.” Each piece was first featured in the fourth annual Youth Arts Exhibition, a celebration of creativity and growth among children at ECDC who are learning through the arts.

“The imagination and creativity of these young artists are deeply inspiring,” said Dr. Larisa Genin, Dean of the Barton School of Business. “I hope every Barton School and Wichita State University student, faculty, and staff member who experiences their work is reminded of the boundless creativity, joy, and innovation that exists within each of us.”

The Barton School’s Woolsey Hall art collection, including the rotating Envision Arts Program installation, reflects the School’s commitment to nurturing creativity as an essential pillar of business education. By integrating art, imagination, and innovation, the Barton School empowers its students to think boldly and approach challenges with fresh, inspired perspectives.
