What is your degree in?

Sport Management

What led you to Wichita State to begin with?

When I toured the campus, I felt right at home. Everyone was super nice and helpful. I didn’t feel like I was out of place at all.

How are you feeling leading up to graduation?

Super stressed!

What has been your most helpful learning experience while a student at Wichita State?

When I was a freshman, we toured the campus while playing games all day. I met a lot of new people that I still talk to today! That was a fun experience where I got to know the campus, find my mentors and make friends.

What was been your biggest challenge as a student, and how did you overcome it?

Going to remote learning was pretty difficult for me because I didn’t have that constant reminder for when assignments were due and when I needed to take quizzes. I ended up taking two days out of the week to look at what I needed to get done and what date it needs to be done by. I took the other day to get a lot of work done or study for some classes, if needed. It helped a lot with my time-management skills.

What has been your most helpful learning experience at Wichita State?

All of my professors have been wonderful in assisting me whenever I need them. Utilizing professor office hours will do wonders if you need any help.

What are your plans after graduation?

I currently work at JAG Gymnastics and I am hoping to continue after I graduate. I love coaching kids and teaching them how to do new skills, and I love the environment I am in every day!

How has the COVID-19 pandemic affected your time at Wichita State or your post-graduation plans?

I was also excited to have a graduation party; but if I end up doing one, it will probably be a drive-by party, which isn’t really the same.

What advice would you give other Wichita State students?

Do not be afraid to ask for help if needed. I had to remind myself that my professors are there to help me understand my field of study. If you aren’t understanding something now, it’s just going to get harder down the line. Manage your time wisely and enjoy college while you can because it won’t last forever.
