Spain - 2026 Summer Program

Make studying abroad a reality this summer by participating in the Global Entrepreneurship Experience in Barcelona. Classes will be taught by Barton School of Business faculty at the Geneva Business School Barcelona campus. Open to all Barton School of Business undergraduate students.

Program Details

  • Program will be held in Barcelona.

  • Course schedule: June 1 to June 12, 2026.

  • Suggested arrival date: May 30, 2026.

  • Taught in English by a Barton School faculty member but the class is comprised of students from around the world and includes instruction from a Geneva Business School faculty member.

  • Class cohort includes students from around the world.

  • Housing is in an air-conditioned residence hall and includes breakfast and dinner.

  • Lunch is provided on campus each class day.

How to Apply and Requirements

Complete the WSU general study abroad application. THE DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR THIS PROGRAM IS JANUARY 5, 2026 BASED ON SPACE AVAILABLE. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.25 and should have junior standing prior to summer 2026. (if students are interested in the program, however do not meet the GPA requirement or if they will not have junior standing—60 credit hours completed, then please contact studyabroad@wichita.edu as an exception may be allowed.)

All students must have a valid passport. Passports can take 4 to 8 weeks to process, so apply now if you do not have one. Students who are U.S. citizens will not need a visa to enter Spain, however for all other citizenships; students will need to check requirements for their country through the Spanish Embassy.

Information on Classes

  • All students will register for 3 credit hours total at WSU for the summer and pay WSU tuition rate for:
    • ENTR 310 or ENTR 690(3)*
      * dependent on each student's status in degree completion.
  • For more information, join us for an Information Session on November 12 from 8:30-9:15 AM in 110A Woolsey Hall. 

Program Costs

Costs of tuition & fees for 3 credit hours at WSU for summer 2026. (Approximate total cost for in-state WSU tuition for this program will be $1,008.)

  • Approx. $2,500 Program Fee which includes room & board and accommodations excursions arranged by Geneva Business School.
  • Approx. $1,100 for round-trip airfare from Wichita, KS to Barcelona, Spain. (Students will purchase airline tickets individually, however through prearranged travel agent so students will have the option to travel with WSU faculty and other students.)
  • Approx. $300 to $500 for miscellaneous personal expenses.

Total Cost including all items mentioned above will be approximately $5,108. (Students should also expect to have other personal expenses such as laundry services, cell phone, International health insurance, local transportation/bus/taxis, as well as expenses for travel during breaks if students choose to visit other cities/countries.)

Scholarships for Summer Program

  • $4,000 scholarships are available for this program to eligible students determined by the Barton School scholarship committee. Students must have 3.25 GPA or higher to be considered for these scholarships and demonstrate financial need to be eligible.
  • Students with lower than a 3.25 GPA are eligible for scholarships in lesser ammounts, determined by the Barton School scholarship committee.
  • If eligible for this scholarship, you will receive application information after our January 5th program deadline.
  • The deadline for scholarship application is January 5.
  • Study abroad scholarships are also available through the Office of International Education.
