For our College, 2026 marks a significant moment as we continue advancing important milestones that reflect both our history and our future direction.

Earlier this year, we celebrated the College of Education’s centennial and reflected on a century of preparing educators, counselors, leaders, and sport management professionals who have made a difference in schools and communities across Kansas and beyond. We remain focused on building upon that legacy through the goals outlined in our Journey to 2030 strategic plan.

Our strategic priorities center on engaging students in high-quality, innovative, and applied learning experiences; supporting impactful faculty scholarship and research; strengthening partnerships with schools, communities, and industry; and growing the resources needed to support our mission. These priorities continue to guide our decisions and investments as we prepare students to lead and serve in an increasingly complex world.

This fall, we look forward to welcoming alumni and friends to our annual Back to School Bash, sponsored by Credit Union of America, on September 15 from 6:00–8:00 p.m. The event will provide an opportunity to reconnect and celebrate the start of the academic year with the many individuals and organizations who support the work of the College of Education.

Thank you for the contributions you bring to our college and for the role you play in shaping the next chapter of the College of Education. Together, we are building on a strong foundation while creating new opportunities for learning, research, partnership, and impact.
