The College of Engineering awards nearly $1 million each year in both need-based and
merit-based scholarships to College of Engineering students. These awards are made
possible by our generous donors, which allow us to provide more than 200 students
with financial assistance as they pursue their degrees at Wichita State University.
General Information
Nearly all College of Engineering scholarships, as well as many general Wichita State
scholarships, are awarded through a single, master application called the "New/Continuing
Students" application in ScholarshipUniverse. The application will open on November 1, 2025 and close April 1, 2026. Applications
received during this period are used to select recipients for the following academic
year. For instructions on how to apply, expand the "How to Apply for College of Engineering
& General University Scholarships" section below.
All College of Engineering scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year have been
awarded. If you submitted the ScholarshipUniverse application for 2025-2026 scholarships,
please check your WSU email address. Award decisions were emailed to all applicants
as they were awarded throughout the Spring and Summer.
The application for 2026-2027 academic year scholarships will open November 1. See

in engineering professional societies or other student organizations, and more. Both merit-based and need-based scholarships are available. Nearly all engineering scholarships are awarded through the "New/Continuing Students" application
in ScholarshipUniverse.
The application will open on November 1, 2025 and close April 1, 2026.Review of applications begins in April, and all applicants will receive an email notification to their WSU email address in June
or July 2026 indicating whether or not they have been offered a scholarship for the 2026-2027 academic year.

The CyberCrops Scholarships for Service are funded by the National Science Foundation to help increase
the number of qualified cybersecurity professionals in the US federal government.
The scholarships cover tuition, provide a bi-monthly stipend and pay for professional development expenses. In exchange, scholarship recipients
work in a cybersecurity federal job after graduation for a period equivalent to the
length of their scholarship. For most students, the length of the scholarship will
be two years. This scholarship requires a separate application process that is not
part of the ScholarshipUniverse application.
