Watkins Summer Fellowship Program
The Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Wichita State University sponsors a limited number of summer research fellowship opportunities each year with financial support through the Watkins Visiting Professorship in Life Sciences Fund created by the Watkins Foundation of Wichita. Full-time teachers from secondary schools, community college and teaching-oriented four-year universities are eligible for these awards. Fellows will be hosted by faculty mentors in the departments of Biology, Chemistry, Geology, or Physics.
Awardees will work with a faculty mentor and his/her group in a current research project, and will receive necessary background and training to make substantive contributions to that project. The ultimate goal of the experience is to provide the teachers with knowledge and techniques that can be used in their classrooms to better engage their students in science and convey to them how new discoveries are made.
Summer Fellows have been selected for Summer 2017
Information for Summer 2018 will be available in March of 2018
