Description

Differential Geometry uses the techniques of differential and integral calculus, and linear and multilinear algebra to study geometric problems. The area arose and developed as a result of and in connection to the mathematical analysis of curves and surfaces. Modern Differential Geometry has connections with many fields of mathematics and theoretical physics and uses tools from various areas such as partial differential equations, complex and functional analysis, algebraic topology, Lie groups, and dynamical systems.
