Dr. Colby Clark joins WSU this Fall as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy. He earned his PhD in 2023 from the University of Kentucky and was most recently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Utah.
Dr. Clark's research interests are in environmental philosophy and environmental ethics. More specifically, he studies how concepts from complex systems theory and biogeography contribute to ecological explanations, environmental decision-making, and environmental policies.
Dr. Clark is an experienced organizer and coach for the APPE Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl. Teams of undergraduates from across the nation compete in regional and national matches where they analyze cases with multiple ethical dimensions and present their ethical analysis for a panel of judges. Cases are drawn from real-life examples that span many areas of ethics, including (but not limited to) bioethics, education, engineering, environmental, social and political, technology and research.
Please help us make him welcome this Fall!
