On Saturday, November 8th, Wichita State sent its first ever team to the 2025 Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl online regional competition. The team finished in seventh place with an overall record of 2-1. The team's only loss came against William & Mary College, whose team won the regional competition this year. Well done, team!
Our Team
Undergraduate students Cynthia Chidziwo (Biomedical Engineering), Isla Running (Philosophy, Ethics Concentration), and Monique Bever (Philosophy, Pre-Law Concentration) competed on behalf of WSU's Ethics Bowl team in the regional. Their fellow team members, Hannah Grill and Sebastian Martinez, also helped to prepare for the competition. The team was coached by Visiting Assistant Professor Colby Clark (Philosophy Department).

Scoring in Collaboration, Clarity, and Insight
IEB is "a unique, collaborative experience for undergraduate students that provides valuable educational experience in practical and professional ethics. Teams spend hours analyzing and preparing for regional and national competitions to see who has thought most deeply and presented their arguments most clearly on cases based on today's most pressing issues. Students develop ethical understanding of complex, ambiguous, and difficult to resolve issues, as well as key virtues associated with democratic deliberation."
