Summer Advantage
A support program for College of Fine Arts students who need to get back on track.
Summer Advantage is a focused support initiative designed exclusively for College of Fine Arts (CFA) students who have fallen behind in their degree progress. The program provides funding for one required summer course
and connects students with campus resources that can help them regain momentum toward
graduation.
This program is intentionally structured to help students get back on track quickly,
confidently, and with the support of the WSU community.

Eligibility
Summer Advantage is intended only for Fine Arts students who are behind in completing essential degree requirements, including foundational and General Education courses. Students who are currently
on track or ahead in their academic progression are not eligible for this program.
What the Program Covers
Selected students receive tuition and required fees for one three‑credit summer course. Eligible courses must be degree‑required or approved General Education courses and must be verified by a Fine Arts academic advisor. Courses may be taken during the pre‑session, four‑week, or eight‑week summer terms.
Student Support
While Summer Advantage does not provide its own workshops or coaching, participating
students are encouraged to engage with campus‑wide services and workshops that can strengthen academic progress. When helpful, students may receive referrals to relevant campus partners such as academic support services, tutoring, career development, or financial wellness
programs.
How to Participate
Students are should submit the Summer Advantage application by the priority deadline
of April 30, 2026, even if they are not yet enrolled in an eligible course. However, to receive full
consideration during the review process, applicants must be enrolled in a summer course that fulfills a required component of their degree
by the April 30 priority deadline.
Applications submitted after April 30 may still be reviewed only if additional funding remains available. In that case, late applications will be considered on a rolling basis. Selected
students will be notified by May 15, 2026.
