The Wichita State University's School of Digital Arts and School of Music is partnering with Movement Musick to have programming at Somewhere Works facility. This partnership will bring more opportunities for applied learning, classes, community engagement starting December 1.
In addition to this partners, the College of Fine Arts will introduce two new degrees.
The Bachelor of Arts in Music - Music Industry Studies Emphasis:
This is a flexible, multidisciplinary program designed to prepare students for diverse careers in the contemporary music industry. Emphasizing breadth over depth in performance, this degree integrates foundational music studies with focused training in music business, entrepreneurship, media, and technology. With a reduced performance load and an emphasis on real-world experiences, including robust internship component, the program offers a dynamic entry point into the evolving music industry landscape.
The Bachelor of Music in Performance - Commercial Music Emphasis:
This is a professionally oriented degree designed to prepare students for dynamic careers in contemporary music. This program emphasizes stylistic fluency, creative versatility, technical production skills, and entrepreneurial readiness across the commercial music landscape.
