Community Arts Initiative

This symposium, created by students in a performing arts course, is designed to celebrate the transformative power of the performing arts in our community. The symposium brings together members of our community with an interest in the arts, education, and civic life. 

Over the course of the semester, students in the School of Performing Arts, collaborate across disciplines to conceptualize and build every aspect of this event. Their work included:
  • Designing project objectives 
  • Developing a full symposium schedule and topic list
  • Identifying and inviting panelists and community groups
  • Securing reservations and venues and safety necessities
  • Creating marketing materials and outreach strategies
This is a remarkable achievement in creative planning, teamwork, and leadership. The symposium will be implemented this in Fall 2026, using the strong foundation built by a team of students from the Fall 2025 innaugral class.
 
This work exemplifies the spirit of collaboration and innovation that defines our School of Performing Arts. We are deeply proud of their efforts and excited to see how their legacy will shape future interdisciplinary projects.
