Wichita State’s undergraduate certificate in cybersecurity essentials helps students develop a broad and practical understanding of cybersecurity—including networking, computer hardware, internet of things, operating systems, security and python programming—to solve real-world cybersecurity challenges. This elective certificate can be used toward completing the Applied Computing bachelor’s degree program.

This 13-credit-hour certificate is comprised of four courses:

  • Digital Forensics
  • Cyber Physical Systems
  • Cyber Risk Management
  • Secure Web Development

How to enroll

To add this certificate to your plan of study: 

  • Log into the myWSU portal, find the Student Tools box (center of the page) and click "Change my Major/Minor."
  • Click continue (this will show your current major and minor).
  • Click continue, then click on "Add a certificate" and choose your certificate program. Click continue and submit request.
