  1. C- or higher required.
  2. Students who have earned an Associate Degree or 30 credit hours prior to high school graduation and before starting classes at WSU as a degree-bound student, may be exempt from taking a First-Year Seminar course. Those students must take an additional general education approved course.
  3. Must be selected from a specified list. For a complete list of options, please view the 2026-2027 catalog.
  4. Students will choose a focus area in consultation with faculty. Examples of focus areas include: leadership, marketing, audio and media production, music performance, entrepreneurship, music composition, and music pedagogy.
  5. Students must complete 15 credit hours outside of the music department. Courses may include an established minor, certificate, or any other credits not designated as MUS.
