Professor of Mathematics

Dr. Catherine Searle, professor of mathematics, is an international leader in her field. Her research focuses on symmetries of spaces with lower curvature bounds, an extremely active area of basic research in differential geometry. Since she arrived at WSU in 2014, her research has been recognized by four consecutive standard grants by the National Science Foundation, two grants by the Simons Foundation and an ARCS grant. She has graduated five master's and three Ph.D. students and is currently supervising one master's and two Ph.D. students. She contributes extensive service to her department, the university, the mathematical community and the local community.
