Whether you’re looking for a quick lunch spot on-campus or a fun date night, you won’t regret a visit to Social Tap located in Braeburn Square on the Wichita State campus. Social Tap opened in August 2021 and has since become a popular spot for Wichita State students, Shocker fans, and others from the Wichita community.

Social Tap is a unique concept that features a tap house and Sungrano Pizza's virtual kitchen. If you’re not familiar with the virtual kitchen concept, you can order food from Sungrano Pizza on your mobile device to be delivered to you and enjoyed while visiting Social Tap or it can be ordered to-go.

We visited on a Friday evening, and it was busy, but we were able to find a table. We started off with an order of pepperoni rolls. The pepperoni rolls are served with marinara which made for a perfect dipping sauce! The pepperoni rolls are not small in size or portion and could be an entire meal on their own – we definitely had leftovers.

The reason for our visit on this day was to try their newest offering - the New York-style pizza. We went with pepperoni for our topping choice. Lots of pepperoni was consumed on this visit. Once the giant-sized pizza came out we quickly realized we were running out of room on our table for all the food we ordered. The slices were literally the size of a human face (see photo proof).

I’m not sure which part I enjoyed more – the crust or the cheese – both were amazing! They also have Sungrano Chile Oil on the table which is perfect for dipping your crust. The slices were so big I could only eat a few, but the pizza was good leftover as well.

Social Tap has a variety of board games you can play while there. Naturally we had to try a few out during our visit. We started with a game of checkers before finding a game we hadn’t played before called Name 5. Name 5 had us cracking up – luckily the atmosphere at Social Tap was already very lively so no one was staring at us as we busted out laughing at the other person trying to name five flavors of cat food or five songs featuring US cities within the time limit. Believe me it’s harder than you think when you’re on the clock.

If you haven’t been to Social Tap yet, what are you waiting for?
