In any given academic year, the Office of Admissions welcomes more than 1,500 prospective Shockers for campus visits. With this many students coming through, Admissions has made it a priority to make sure that each one feels recognized and gets a glimpse of what their individual Shocker experience looks like.
When visitors arrive at the Marcus Welcome Center, there are parking spots reserved for prospective students at the very front of the building. The best part? These parking spots are specifically labeled with their name, letting them know early on that they have a place here at the University. The recognition doesn’t stop there, as their names are also displayed on a digital screen inside the Welcome Center.
The personalization continues after check-in, as each visitor has their own schedule based on personal and academic interests. When registering for a visit, students are given the option to meet with various departments around campus, and all these meetings are coordinated by Admissions staff. On the day of their visit, students are given a personalized folder with their unique schedule printed on the front.

To make sure visitors can get to all their appointments, the Admissions Office has a shuttle that runs specifically for students and their guests.
At the end of their visit, each student participates in a Shocker Send-Off, which is a one-on-one conversation with an Admissions representative. These conversations are completely tailored to the individual student and help to make sure that they have all the information they need before leaving campus. After their Send-Off wraps up, visitors are gifted a T-shirt as a thank you for spending their day with Shocker Nation!
