25-Under-25 and Drawing & Painting Club.
Why did you choose Wichita State University?
I chose Wichita State University because it felt like the right place for me academically
and personally. I wanted a university that offered strong business programs, opportunities
to grow professionally, and a campus where I could truly get involved. Wichita State
stood out because of its supportive community, hands-on learning opportunities and
strong connections with local businesses and organizations. Staying in my hometown
also allowed me to remain close to my family while pursuing my goals.
How did being involved with the Student Ambassador Society impact your time at WSU?
Being involved with the Student Ambassador Society had a huge impact on my time at
WSU. It helped me grow as a leader, improve my communication skills and build confidence
in professional settings. Through events, campus tours and representing the university,
I was able to meet so many people and create lasting memories. It also gave me a stronger
sense of pride in Wichita State and helped me feel connected to campus.
Which Wichita State faculty or staff member impacted you the most during your time
here?
Some of the staff members who impacted me the most were the advisors and mentors I
met through the Barton School of Business. They always encouraged me to keep pushing
forward, believe in my abilities, and take advantage of opportunities that would help
me grow. Their guidance made a big difference in helping me stay motivated and focused
on my future.
How do you feel about graduating?
Graduating feels exciting, emotional and rewarding all at once. It represents years
of hard work, challenges and personal growth. I feel proud of everything I’ve accomplished,
but it is also bittersweet because Wichita State has been such an important chapter
of my life. I’m excited for what comes next, but I’ll always be grateful for the memories
and experiences I gained here.
Which experience at Wichita State challenged you the most and what did you take away
from that challenge?
One of the most challenging experiences was balancing school, work, leadership roles
and personal responsibilities all at once. There were times when it felt overwhelming,
but it taught me resilience, time management and the importance of asking for help
when needed. I learned that growth often comes during the hardest seasons, and those
challenges made me stronger and more prepared for life after graduation.
What are your post-grad plans?
After graduating from Wichita State University, I plan to begin my career in a professional
business or finance-related role where I can continue developing my skills and gaining
real-world experience. I also aspire to pursue a career in dental hygiene, combining
my passion for helping others with long-term stability and growth. I hope to build
a successful career, give back to my community and create a balanced life centered
around faith, family and personal growth.
What advice would you give to incoming students?
My advice to incoming students is to get involved early, build relationships, and
don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. College goes by quickly, so take
advantage of opportunities, attend events and connect with professors and classmates.
Also, remember that it’s okay not to have everything figured out right away. Stay
consistent, work hard and trust that your path will come together with time.
