The National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) at Wichita State University hosted the U.S. Air Force Logistics and Product Support Directorate and Digital Transformation Offices for an update on current B-1 and F-16 digital twin programs. The delegation included Angie Tymofichuk, deputy assistant secretary, and leaders from the B-1 and F-16 System Program Offices. They toured many of NIAR’s facilities and learned about programs and capabilities in Additive Manufacturing, Reverse Engineering, Robotics, eXtended Reality, Advanced Virtual Engineering and Testing, NIAR-WERX and Spirit AeroSystems – and how these areas are leveraging digital techniques.
