Calen Dell graduated with a degree in Computer Science in May 2026 and now works as an IT Technician at Crosswinds Casino. Before graduating, he spent three years with Ennovar as an IT Infrastructure Analyst at Textron. The experience he gained there continues to shape how he approaches his work today.
At Crosswinds, one IT team supports the casino’s Players Club, restaurants, accounting team, hotel, and an off-site surveillance location. That range makes every day different. “One day I'm trying to get a bank of Slots to stop going offline, and the next day I'm investigating report discrepancies with auditors,” Calen shared. Because the casino operates 24/7, the team also responds to late-night emergencies and performs upgrades while systems are still in use.
Calen credits his time at Ennovar with preparing him for those challenges. Along with building technical skills at Textron, he learned how a large organization plans projects, makes decisions, and deploys new tools. “I got to see decisions made, projects planned out, and new tools deployed in a very professional by-the-book environment,” he said. “In my current position with a much smaller organization, that experience comes in handy frequently.” Looking back, Calen appreciated working with the motivated people at Ennovar. He also remembers a smaller perk: there was always Dr. Pepper in the fridge at the P11 building.
Outside of work, Calen enjoys jiu jitsu and gardening.
