Hanah Zarick is currently an accounting intern with the Sedgwick County Division of Finance, working alongside two principal accountants to support daily operations. A May 2026 accounting major, she describes her experience as one that has deepened her understanding of the field: “I have been able to apply all the accounting concepts that I know to my work and develop a better understanding of why accounting works the way it does. I am grateful for the opportunity and the chance to gain more knowledge to help me with my future career.”

The decision to pursue accounting didn’t come immediately. “It took me a long time to choose a career and field of study,” she shared. After considering economics and taking her first few accounting classes, she found a natural fit. “Since then, I have noticed that this field of study makes me feel like I have a purpose and I enjoy learning about the subject each day.”

Looking ahead, Hanah is considering graduate school to earn her master’s in accounting while continuing her current role. Ennovar has played a key part in her journey so far. “Ennovar has helped me career wise by giving me the chance and opportunity to stay in this position and further my career while also helping me through the stress of being a full-time student.”

Support and flexibility stand out in her experience. “Ennovar understands the life of a full-time student who is also trying to work and gain real life experience. They provided many resources and support that allow students to feel comfortable and as stress-free as possible.”

When not focused on academics or work, Hanah spends her time reading, baking, staying active, and hanging out with her dogs.
