Emma Ewing is an Industrial Engineering major currently gaining hands-on experience in IT through Ennovar at the Textron Aviation Help Hangar. In her role, she helps customers troubleshoot issues, assists with asset transfers, and supports her team with day-to-day tasks. “Being in the Help Hangar has made me more well spoken, has helped me gain knowledge of computers/software, and informed me about policies and procedures within large factories,” she shares. Emma credits Ennovar for pushing her out of her comfort zone and opening doors she didn’t expect.

“Ennovar has helped me get a foot in the door for future internships. It has helped me get out of my comfort zone and now I’m doing something I would have never thought of doing.”

Her interest in industrial engineering began during a Black & Yellow Day at WSU. “One of the engineering ambassadors spoke about Industrial Engineering and that really caught my attention,” she recalls. “Industrial engineers focus a lot on the customer and how we can meet the customer’s needs. I love making connections with people while also problem solving.”

Looking ahead, Emma plans to continue focusing on school while building hands-on experience to prepare for her future career.

She values Ennovar’s mission to support students early in their college journey. “I like how Ennovar’s whole mission is getting students hands-on experiences even as freshmen… I love all the people I have met. They are very genuine and kind.”

Outside of work and school, Emma enjoys photography, especially taking pictures of nature, and has a lifelong passion for AKC dog showing. She’s also involved on campus as a Transition Mentor for the College of Engineering for the 2025 school year.
