James Wood, a Computer Science major graduating in December 2026, is currently serving as a Site Technician Specialist Intern at USD259 Wichita School District. In this role, he provides technical support across the district, helping keep classrooms and offices running smoothly while building real-world experience that ties directly into his studies.

James credits Ennovar with giving him the opportunity to step into a career path he didn’t expect but has found deeply rewarding. “Ennovar had opened up a door to a field that I had never expected to see myself in. Working in the school district was not on my list of places to work but it has been an amazing experience and I am thankful.”

His interest in technology began early, inspired by his father’s curiosity with new devices like the first iPhone and surveying software. In high school, James started experimenting with building machines and writing programs, which solidified his decision to pursue computer science. Looking ahead, he hopes to continue with the school district, where he enjoys the chance to make a difference. “I love the fact that even in my own little corner I have ways that I can help and support future generations, as well as making school something they can look forward to!”

When asked about his favorite part of Ennovar, James emphasized how supported he’s felt along the way. “Ennovar has been very communicative with me as far as where I want to go in my field. I may not have gotten this position right away but Ennovar made sure that if a chance opened up I was always in the loop to apply for it.”

Outside of school and work, James enjoys hiking and exploring the outdoors. He’s set a personal goal to visit all of the U.S. national parks, combining his love for nature with his sense of adventure.
