Mark Common, an Aerospace Engineering student graduating in May 2028, currently works as a Student Lead on the Kitters team through Ennovar at Boeing. In his role, he helps maintain an efficient workflow between students to ensure tasks are completed on time while also contributing to cross-functional training efforts that support team development and operational success. “Ennovar has helped me further my understanding of the processes that take place behind current engineering businesses, and has helped me develop a better grasp of project management techniques.”
Through his leadership role, he has also gained experience working with teams and navigating the fast-paced environment of aerospace manufacturing and operations.

His passion for aerospace engineering started early. “I am in the aerospace field because of my love for rocketry and airplanes,” Mark explained. Growing up, he enjoyed watching rocket launches and was fascinated by anything related to space. Flight simulator games also sparked his interest in aircraft and eventually pushed him toward pursuing aerospace engineering as a career.
Looking ahead, Mark plans to complete his aerospace degree and hopes to secure internships with companies like Bombardier and other aerospace organizations in Wichita.
He also values the strong community Ennovar provides, especially as someone originally from Houston, Texas. “I really enjoy that there are other students like myself that I work around as it is a way to meet new people since I’m from out of state,” he shared.
Outside of work and school, Mark enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, cooking pasta, and playing golf.
