Rohan Spillman is currently studying Cybersecurity and plans to graduate in 2028. Through Ennovar, he currently supports risk and compliance work at Textron Aviation, where he researches hardware and software before it is implemented, conducts on-site assessments of air-gapped labs, and works with teams across Engineering and IT to make sure systems meet security and compliance requirements. He has also been researching NIST Risk Management Framework standards and ways Textron’s current processes could continue to improve. Cybersecurity has been on Rohan’s radar for a long time.

“My dad has always been my biggest inspiration career-wise. I grew up watching him work in different IT/Cyber/GRC roles, and always wanted to learn more about what he did.” Rohan got an early start himself, beginning at WSU Tech during his junior year of high school and earning his associate degree alongside his high school diploma.

Through Ennovar, Rohan has been able to gain experience in cybersecurity much earlier than he expected while learning directly from professionals in the field. “Being able to work so closely with such knowledgeable professionals wouldn't be possible for me without Ennovar.” The flexibility of the program has also allowed him to balance work, school, and his personal life. The people and environment at Ennovar have been an important part of that experience. That experience has made Textron somewhere Rohan could see himself staying after graduation.

While he’s keeping his options open, he hopes to continue working there if the opportunity arises. He has grown to appreciate both the environment and the people he works with, and he also credits Ennovar’s communication and flexibility with making the experience manageable alongside school.

Outside of cybersecurity, Rohan enjoys being involved in the local music scene and attending festivals and shows. He also likes thrifting and antiquing with friends, reading, especially Lovecraft and Tolkien, and spending time with his cats.
