Overview

Cheryl Miller is the senior assistant dean for Fairmount College. She is the point of contact for college  strategic communication, public relations, college-wide events and staff concerns. Other duties include teaching a section of FYCM 102R, Comm 301 or Comm 502, coordinating posthumous degrees, serving as college commencement coordinator, and coordinating major college events such as Hall of Fame.

Her professional memberships include the Council of Colleges of Arts and Sciences, American Copy Editors Society, National Federation of Press Women, Kansas Professional Communicators and Wichita Professional Communicators.

In 2016, she was named Communicator of Achievement by the Kansas Professional Communicators. This award considers professional achievement, community service and service to the National Federation of Press Women, Kansas Professional Communicators and Wichita Professional Communicators. She has received numerous editing and writing awards. She earned a Master of Arts in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University. She holds a Bachelor of General Studies in Communication and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Personnel Administration, both from Wichita State University. She is past-president of the Kansas Ornithological Society
