Overview

Dr. Nicole Fox, PhD, LMSW, DSW is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at Wichita State University, where she teaches courses across the BSW, and MSW program.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Wichita State University in 1998, her Master of Arts in Social Work from Newman University in 2002, and her Doctorate in Social Work from University of Kentucky in 2024. She joined the Wichita State University faculty in 2025.

Dr. Fox brings over two decades of professional social work experience to her teaching, blending academic rigor with real-world insight. In addition to her academic role, she continues to practice as a licensed social worker, providing therapy and end-of-life support rooted in compassion, dignity, and holistic care.

Her research and professional interests focus on health equity, grief and loss, and the integration of mind–body wellness in social work practice. Dr. Fox is also dedicated to developing innovative, experiential teaching methods that help students connect theory to practice and strengthen their capacity for empathy, advocacy, and ethical leadership.
