Overview


Anne Marie Brown has served the Wichita State University School of Music since July 2017, bringing more than two decades of experience as director of operations and education with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra. She is passionate about supporting music faculty and students in every way possible, contributing her organizational expertise and deep love for the arts.

Anne Marie is a dedicated campus leader, currently serving on the WSU Staff Senate since 2022 and as president of the WSU Spark Society. She previously chaired the College of Fine Arts Staff Council and played a key role in the Women’s Leadership Initiative, where she led the Mentoring Circles program.

Her commitment to music and education extends beyond campus. Anne Marie is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, an international music fraternity, and has served as president of the Wichita Alumnae Chapter. In August 2022, she was elected province officer for the Theta B area. She is also in her third year as president of her P.E.O. chapter, a philanthropic organization focused on women’s education, and has served on the Wichita Area P.E.O. Council since 2023.

In her free time, Anne Marie enjoys reading, glass fusing and quilting.
