Overview
Heather Hill was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. After relocating to Liberal, Kansas, with her husband in 1993, Heather began attending Seward County Community College in 1994. Following a brief break to welcome the birth of their daughter, she returned to her studies and earned her Associate's degree in 1997.
In 1998, Heather, her husband, and their daughter returned to Wichita to be closer to family. She then began a successful 20-year career as a legal secretary and legal assistant before joining Wichita State University in 2016. During her time in the Office of Financial Aid, Heather served as both a Scholarship Specialist and Financial Aid Advisor, helping students navigate higher education and achieve their educational goals.
Committed to lifelong learning, Heather returned to school in 2017 while working full-time and earned her Bachelor's degree in General Studies with an emphasis in Women's Studies from Wichita State University in May 2021, graduating on her 49th birthday.
Outside of work, Heather is an active performer and student of American Tribal Style Belly Dance (FatChanceBellyDance® Style) through Amira's Dance Productions. She performs in the studio's annual Dance Odyssey production each spring and participates in the Great Plains Renaissance Festivals and other community performances throughout the year.
When she's not dancing, Heather enjoys spending time with her family, granddaughter, friends, and dogs.
