Overview
Within MCJI, Dr. Kaliah Murry assists with evaluation and research efforts in collaboration with the MCJI team. She is responsible for continuously assessing data collection processes, evaluation assessments, recommending and implementing improvements as needed, and conducting in-depth research. Dr. Murry also prepares and submits findings for approval and publication in academic reports.
In addition to her research responsibilities, Dr. Murry contributes to the final assessment and reporting of MCJI-affiliated projects. She supports the MCJI Executive Director and team in maintaining and strengthening relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and broader criminal justice systems.
Dr. Murry plays a key role in curriculum developments, supporting the design of coursework and educational materials for law enforcement nationwide with an emphasis on violent crime and gun crime intervention strategies. She collaborates with academic programs at Wichita State University and external institutions to facilitate training, including working with other universities to help professors and relevant personnel develop related curricula.
Her responsibilities also include coordinating and scheduling training, assisting in the development of advanced educator training models aimed at replicating WSU’s success. These efforts focus on critical topics such as crime gun intelligence, violent crime, NIBIN, and forensic science.
Dr. Murry further assists in grant reporting and supports all aspects of academic research, from conducting studies to publishing findings.
