Overview
Sheelu Surender is the Executive Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships at Wichita State University, where she leads a team of 26 service focused individuals and operations that administers over $105 million dollars annually in financial aid and scholarships. She has served the Office of Financial Aid in various capacities for more than 22 years. Her leadership on the Wichita State campus involves contribution in Strategic Enrollment Management, the President’s Diversity Council, the WSU Women’s Association and various academic committees. She loves mentoring students and assists as an advisor to the WSU Student Ambassador Society and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion Passage Scholars. She considers her direct engagement with students to be the greatest reward of her work.
Sheelu is a first generation college graduate, who earned a BA in International Business and Business Administration from Friends University and an MBA from Wichita State University.
