Additive Manufacturing Adoption
  • Engagement with industry and regulatory authorities including the DoD, GE Additive, and Boeing continues in support of a part production qualification whitepaper to assist industry with the development of qualified factories. This white paper was completed  and company outreach in all areas is still a focus through out Additive Manufacturing.
  • Final fatigue testing complete.  Alloy718 specs draft is written, and team is now reviewing edits. White Paper will be submitted to NCAMP for board approval with an estimated publish date by the end of February 2026.
  • Additive Manufacturing training is currently on hiatus while machinery is being prepared to move to HAMR after the first of the year.  Focus is now on curriculum enhancement, identifying classroom and lab scheduling  process for HAMR, and to build a more robust marketing strategy to reach SMM manufacturers regionally who could be interested in adopting AM.
  • ATLAS announced a new partnership with Qarbon Aerospace and was featured in Composites World for its FPP technology use.
Smart Manufacturing/Future Factory
  • WSU Tech hosted its annual Manufacturing Day even at NCAT on Friday, October 3rd 2025,  for 125 area high school seniors exploring hands-on workshops, an opportunity to connect with industry leaders, and to discover career pathways in tech and manufacturing.
  • NIAR hosted its 2025 Manufacturing Day at NCAT on Thursday October 23, 2025. Speakers spoke on the latest advancements in automated metrology, artificial intelligence, aerospace manufacturing, and a virtual reality preview  video of the new Hub for Advanced Manufacturing Research (HAMR)  building, funded by the EDA's Build Back Better Regional Challenge was shown.
