Our Chaplains are committed to serving the students, faculty and staff of the Wichita State community on each of our campuses. If you would like to talk, please call for an appointment, we can meet on campus or in several churches around town, as well as popular spots like Mead's Corner or the Donut Whole.

Pastoral Counseling on a variety of topics. We're happy to chat with you about what's on your mind, will explain our confidentiality policy up front, and can offer referrals, either to another of our chaplains or to campus and community resources, for topics that need attention beyond our training and expertise. Sometimes just talking it out is what will relieve the stress and reveal possibilities.

Prayer and Spiritual Direction - We would be delighted to pray with you about specific concerns and work with you to help discern your path and vocation, find Sabbath and a balance of work, rest and play in your life. Practices such as labyrinths and prayer walks, breath prayer, and Lectio Divina (an ancient practice of reading and listening to scripture) have been crucial on our paths and e’d love to share them with you.

Getting Ready for MarriageSeveral of our Chaplains are available to conduct on campus weddings. Pastor Christopher Eshelman is the primary contact, although others are possible.

Premarital Counseling is required for couples that would like Pastor Christopher to preside at their wedding. Normally four 45-60 minute sessions spread over 2-3 months is the minimum. We use the Getting Ready for Marriage Workbook to help couples have deep and meaningful conversations about major aspects of their life together as they prepare to be wed. A copy is included in Christopher's basic fees.

Campus Weddings generally held at Grace Memorial Chapel, but other locations are possible. Check with the University Reservations office at 979-3495 for details on space usage and facility fees.

Available by appointment. Call 978-3498 or email campusministry@wichita.edu
