Jan 24, 2013 — By WSU News Services — A celebration of life service for John Gries, associate professor of geology, was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, in 101 Geology Building. He died Friday, Jan. 18. He was 72. Gries had worked at WSU for nearly 42 years. He is survived by his wife and geology lecturer Toni Jackman. Memorials have been established at Great Plains Transportation Museum and the Wichita State University Foundation.
