The Elliott School hosts the competition every semester, which consists of students from public speaking courses. There were five finalists who gave their policy persuasive speeches during the final round. Congratulations to Mary Buchele for winning the Fall 2017 Shocker Speakout competition.

Dec 15, 2017 — By WSU News Services — A permanent exhibit recently found a home in the Morrison bookcase on the second floor of Morrison Hall. The more than 100-year-old bookcase now houses pictures and other artifacts from Nathan Morrison's time at Fairmount College. Morrison was the first president of Fairmount College and the leading force behind building a library for his students by securing funding and collecting book donations.
