Estella Armenta transferred to Wichita State University to get more involved on her college campus. At WSU, she served in an executive role in the Hispanic American Leadership Organization and is a McNair Scholar.

What made you choose Wichita State University?
The diversity. My sister was involved in Greek life at WSU and her love of the sense of community helped convince me to transfer from the University of Kansas. She told me about her involvement and I realized I wanted that.
What scholarships did you earn during your time at Wichita State?
O'Brate Foundation Scholarship, Rowena Irani Scholarship in Psychology, McNair Scholars Program and Denny Klepper Scholarship for Community Leadership.
What advice would you give other Wichita State students?
Do not throw away your shot. Your community is out there. You make a difference and you do matter. Keep your head up. People look up to you!
What are your plans after graduation?
I will continue working in the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Hub at Wichita State.
