Feb. 17, 2025 — The College of Engineering at Wichita State University is hosting a free Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day event, commonly known as Girl Day, for high school students from Wichita and the surrounding area. The event will be from 9:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20 in the Rhatigan Student Center at WSU.

Feb. 13, 2025 - Shocker pitcher Grant Adler, who attended Derby High School, will graduate in May with a general studies - chemistry degree while continuing to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. He will intern at Spirit AeroSystems for a second summer.

Feb. 13, 2025 Grace Naylor, senior at Prairie View High School, is the winner of the 2025 Lenora N. McGregor Endowed Scholarship at Wichita State University.

Feb. 12, 2025 — The College of Engineering at Wichita State University is hosting a public 5k run/walk that is open to students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members. The 5k will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 on the WSU campus. Registration proceeds from the 5k will go toward the College of Engineering Needs-Based Scholarship Fund.

Feb. 10, 2025 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is investing $2.5 million in Wichita State University, with $1.8 million earmarked as the lead gift to the Wichita Biomedical Campus. The remaining $700,000 will create two endowed Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas nursing scholarships in the WSU College of Health Professions.

Feb. 7, 2025 — Former Shocker baseball player Sean Johnson is assistant general manager for the Minnesota Twins. His time at Wichita State, as a player and director of operations for the baseball team, launched his career in professional baseball.

Feb. 5, 2025 —Former Royals star and future Shocker baseball dad Mike Sweeney talked baseball, raising children, nature, leadership and much more as the keynote speaker for Wichita State's annual baseball dinner. MJ Sweeney, his son, committed to play baseball for the Shockers in 2026 after spending this season at Grossmont (Calif.) College.
