Tips for Using the Labs

We recommend that you purchase a thumb/flash/usb drive and store your homework on the flash drive.

Do not save/store items on the lab computers. The lab computers have a set configuration which is locked. Once you log off, any information that you may have saved to the computer will be removed. **Always save your homework to your thumb/flash/usb drive.

Please keep a backup of your work because there is always possibility of data loss. You are ultimately responsible for your electronic documentation just as you are responsible for non-electronic documentation.
Computer Lab Policies

Absolutely no food or drink in the labs at any time.

Any use of the lab or network to facilitate illegal activity is prohibited.

DO NOT share usernames and passwords. Sharing account information amongst students will be grounds for having the user's account disabled.

Communications via the network should not be assumed to be private or privileged information.

No disruptions in the labs will be tolerated.

Please Do Not use your Cell Phone in the lab, step out to make or take a call.

Hardware or software shall not be destroyed, modified, or abused in any way.

Malicious use of the lab or network will not be tolerated.

The illegal installation of software for use on college computers is prohibited.

Downloading and/or storing illegal software, music or movies is prohibited.

The computers purchased by student or research fees are to be used for engineering academic purposes. Any abuse of the services available is prohibited, and will be grounds for having the user's account disabled.

College of Engineering and WSU reserves the right to log internet usage and to monitor file server space utilization by users, while respecting user privacy.
