Join the Elliott School chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Honor Society.

Lambda Pi Eta is fully accredited by the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS). The National Communicaiton Honor Society was established in 1985 and now has more than 400 active chapters, and more than 5,000 members.

Benefits to students
Lambda Pi Eta was organized to provide a means to encourage outstanding undergraduate scholarship and to reward those students who excel in their communication program. In addition, Lambda Pi Eta provides students with:

  • An opportunity to belong to a collegial group of students who share their interest in communication and their ability to excel academically.
  • An opportunity to earn national awards and to serve in local and national leadership positions.
  • An opportunity to participate in scholarly and charitable activities in their communities.
  • An opportunity for recognition via a certificate, lapel pin, graduation cord, and registration in a national database of honor students.

Requirements for joining

  • Must have completed 60 semester credit-hours; have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 for all courses taken, and at least a 3.25 GPA for all communication studies courses.
  • Must have completed the equivalent of 12 semester credit-hours in communication studies and currently be enrolled as a student in good standing, as determined by the institution's policies.
  • Undergraduates who are elected shall rank not lower than the highest 35 percent of their class in general scholarship.
  • All persons considered for membership shall exhibit high standards of personal and professional character and shall support the purposes of the honor society.
