Wichita State's graduate certificate in nano engineering is for engineering and technology professionals and graduate students wanting a strong understanding of nano-engineering fundamentals and in-depth knowledge in critical and upcoming areas such as nanotechnology in electronics, drugs, vehicles, laser nano-built products, other nano-related manufacturing and new emerging nanotechnologies.

Curriculum

The 12-credit-hour certificate covers the following courses:

Required:

  • Introduction to Nanotechnology

Select three from the following:

  • Polymeric Composite Materials
  • Advanced Biomaterials
  • Synthesis and Applications of Nanomaterials
  • Corrosion Science Engineering
  • Advanced Laser Applications in Manufacturing

Admission to the program

There are two paths to admission to the program:

  • For those already enrolled in graduate school, simply complete the Declaration of Intent to Pursue a Certificate Form.
  • Prospective students need to use the graduate school application form, as if you are enrolling in graduate school. If you are only pursuing a certificate, simply select "Non-Degree Admission: Category A."
