Graduate CertificateSpecial Education - High Incidence

The fully online special education - high incidence graduate certificate from Wichita State is designed for students who are currently enrolled in the Master of Education (MEd) in special education - low incidence or low incidence alternative certification program who would like to add a high incidence endorsement.

To enroll, students must have a GPA of 2.75 or better and hold a current Kansas initial teaching license or be eligible for one.

Curriculum

The special education - high incidence graduate certificate comprises 24 credit hours and prepares you to work with students with mild to moderate disabilities. Students completing the low incidence endorsement may apply 14 shared credit hours toward this certificate, creating an aligned pathway for dual licensure. Students are eligible to take the SPED Praxis Content exams for teacher licensure after successful completion of their final semester of coursework.
