The fully online special education - low incidence graduate certificate from Wichita State is designed for students currently enrolled in the Master of Education (MEd) in special education - high incidence or high incidence alternative certification program who would like to add a low incidence endorsement.

To enroll, students must have a GPA of 2.75 or better and hold a current Kansas initial teaching license or be eligible for one.

Curriculum

The special education - low incidence graduate certificate comprises 24 credit hours and prepares you to work with students with moderate to severe disabilities. Students completing the high incidence endorsement may apply 14 shared credit hours toward this certificate, creating an aligned pathway for dual licensure. Students are eligible to take the SPED Praxis Content exams for teacher licensure after successful completion of their final semester of coursework.
