- Hamburg Semester Contribution of 347 euros must be paid by all students and includes a semester ticket which allows you unlimited travel on Hamburg's public transport system for the whole semester. We also added an estimated $75 bank transfer fee.
- Accommodation can range from 350-450 euros per month.
- Meals were estimated by the Berlin School of Economics and Law at 120-250 euros/month for eating three meals a day. (Note: This is a different university’s estimate used for this calculation)
- No exact estimate was provided by the partner university, however we estimate that you should not spend over $150 for textbooks for one semester.
- The BlueCross BlueShield Global Solutions health insurance plan is required for study abroad. The total cost is based on the total number of days the student is abroad. As of August 2026, it cost $1.86 per day for a maximum $100,000 coverage and $100 deductible. 150 days (5 months) will be approximately $279.00. There are different coverage plans available at different prices.
- It is required to get German Health Insurance for students while in Germany. This costs up to 145 euros per month.
- Residence permit and alien registration are required for all non-EU nationals staying in Germany longer than 90 days. Visas are obtained in Germany for about 110 euros.
- Airfare cost was provided according to Orbitz as of 8/3/2026 with travel dates of January 16, 2027 – June 11, 2027. This should provide a good estimate to cover the airfare expense.
- Personal expense estimates are provided by Financial Aid for students living on the WSU campus, which will be similar during a study abroad program.
*Tuition and Fees are based on the Resident rate during Fall 2026 for 12 undergraduate credit hours at Wichita State University. Students will pay their current tuition rate during the study abroad program based on their residency and any specific college/department requirements.
